Help
- How do I get started?
- Install the app on your Apple TV and on your iPhone or iPad. Open it on the phone and follow the setup: kids, faces and when school starts.
- How do I connect the phone to the TV?
- Open the app on both while they are on the same Wi-Fi. The TV shows a four-digit code; type it on the phone. You only do this once. You can connect again or disconnect under Plan → TV.
- Do I need iCloud?
- No, but it helps. With the same Apple ID on the phone and the TV, the plan and ticks also sync through your own iCloud. Without it, they sync over your home network.
- What is hurry mode?
- Tap the red button under Today on a late morning. The TV switches to a countdown to leaving and shows only what must be done. Choose which tasks can be skipped under Plan → Tasks.
- Can the phone be the TV?
- Yes. Turn the phone on its side to see the same as the TV. On iPhone Duo, stand it half-folded on its long side like a tent.
- How do I change the language?
- Under Plan → Language. The TV follows the same choice.
- The TV went to sleep
- The app keeps the Apple TV awake while it is open. Also check that your TV set itself has no power saving that turns it off.
- Can the TV turn itself on and off?
- Yes, with two automations in the Shortcuts app on your iPhone or iPad.
- In Shortcuts, tap Automation, then New Automation, then Time of Day. Pick a time just before the kids get up, choose the school days, and select Run Immediately.
- Add the actions Wake Apple TV and Open App on Apple TV, and choose Out We Go and your Apple TV.
- Make a second Time of Day automation for half an hour after you leave for school, also set to Run Immediately.
- Add the action “Is the app open on the TV?” from Out We Go, then If the result is true, Sleep Apple TV. The TV only turns off if it still shows the morning, not if someone is watching something else.
- Turn on HDMI-CEC on your TV set so it follows the Apple TV.
- No Apple TV?
- Many TVs support AirPlay, and the iPhone can show the morning on them. Show it on a TV with AirPlay
